Missing Teeth Change How You Look

Posted on 12/7/2020 by SmileCOS Dentistry
Missing Teeth Change How You LookMissing teeth are not the most aesthetically pleasing sight to see and may actually divert attention away from your better features because of how noticeable they are. Fortunately, missing teeth can be replaced with the help of a few different devices; read on to learn about what you can do to get your look back.

Filling the Gaps

No one looks forward to losing their teeth, because is not only changes how you look when you smile, it also reduces the functionality and versatility of your mouth. Dental implants, dentures, and bridges are a few of the options that can fill the holes in your mouth and get you smiling like you used to. Dental implants are rods that are bonded to your jawbone so that crowns can be attached; these are the best option for completely restoring the look, feel, and functionality of your original teeth.

The crowns are naturally colored resins that are CNC machined to perfectly mimic teeth, and the fact that they are bonded to your jawbone allows your jawbone to maintain its shape and strength over time. Dental bridges are artificial teeth that are bonded to dental implants or existing teeth, but unlike dental implants, the bridges don't preserve the jaw bone density as well since they bridge the gap in your teeth instead of replacing your teeth individually. Dentures are the last option we will mention; they are a complete set of artificial teeth and gums that have a long history of use.

Dentures restore the functionality of your teeth, but not quite as well as implants and bridges since they are removable and may slip occasionally. As you can see, there are a few options for changing the way you look after your teeth go missing. Please give us a call to discuss the best option for your particular situation, and we'll get you smiling with confidence once again!
