Caring for your teeth may seem difficult. However, caring for a loved one's teeth may see even more difficult. Taking care of someone else's dental hygiene may put a lot of pressure on you. You could be the difference between a perfect smile and a lot of visits to our office. Fortunately, caring for the teeth of someone is easier than you think. You can think of caring for someone's teeth like you would for your own. Would you be happy with yourself if you didn't do a great job cleaning your teeth? Probably not. The most important thing you can do for your loved one is to communicate with them. Ask them if they're comfortable if you take over their dental care. If they are, try to ask them questions every time you help them. This will help you know if they are comfortable while you take care of them. How to Brush a Loved One's TeethStart by choosing a soft bristled brush. If your loved one has dentures, you can get a hard-bristled brush to clean them too. Once you have the supplies, you can start brushing. Start by brushing the back-bottom teeth and gently make your way around until you get to the other side. Afterwards, do the same with the top. Don't forget to floss too. It will help keep your loved one's teeth and gums in good condition. It may be a good idea to switch toothpastes every now and then to make brushing a more enjoyable experience as well. Dental care is important—no matter who you're doing it for. Part of a good dental care routine is regular teeth cleanings. If you or your loved one need a teeth cleaning, please contact us. We'd be happy to help you make sure your mouth is as clean as possible. |
