MEET DR. MILLER
Dr. Miller hails from a large family in the Midwest. After finishing an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Nebraska, he attended the Medical Center and received his doctorate of Dental Surgery. For three years, he worked in a Cosmetic practice with an emphasis on full mouth rehabilitation in Littleton, CO. In 2003 he transitioned to Colorado Springs to work in a family practice that emphasized Orthodontics and TMJ Disorders. Post doctoral continuing education includes Cosmetic Dentistry, Cleft Pallet Surgery, Bonding, Root Canals, Conscious Sedation, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontal non-surgical and surgical treatment, Implant Placement and Restoration. He is a member of the Colorado Springs Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Colorado Dental Association.
In June of 2007 he was married to a teacher and Colorado Springs native Angela Hocevar. They live near Palmer Park and absolutely love all Colorado has to offer.
The office as a whole gives back to the community by educating elementary students on oral health as well as working with Peak Vista Community Health center.
MEET DR. NAOMI SEVER
Dr. Naomi was born and raised in Southern Oregon; from there she went to Medford Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate education at Tufts University. After several years of a career in dental product sales she went on to obtain her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Texas at San Antonio graduating with distinction in dental education and research. Some of her professional memberships include: American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association and the Colorado Springs Dental Society.
MEET OUR STAFF
Marla N, Office Manager
Meet Marla our wonderful office manager! (The Alpha Female) She has been with Dr. Andrew Miller since October 2006. She was born and grew up in Kansas City. She has been happily married for eighteen years and after her husband retired from the military, he began working for the largest dental supply company in the country, Sullivan Schein, so they are all in the dental business. They have three children, two girls aged thirteen and sixteen and one nine year old boy who has decided to be a dentist when he grows up. She also has two beautiful Siberian Huskies named Legend and Kane. Her favorite things to do are shopping, walking and, Zumba. Marla knew from day one that this was the place she was supposed to be. To be able to wake up and look forward to going to work, is a blessing and not many people can say that. Dr. Miller is the most kind-hearted doctors she knows. He puts everything into what he does and his work speaks for itself. The staff is simply the best which makes her job so much easier. Everyone realizes that it isn’t just Dr. Miller’s practice, but all of ours and they take great pride in it. She always tells Dr. Miller that she is not going anywhere until he retires so, you’ll all see her around for the next thirty years! (That would put her at 68 so perhaps we should make that 20 years).
Brook M, Patient/Treatment Coordinator
Brook has been in the dental field for 20 years. She joined Dr. Miller’s team in August 2007 where she is happily Marla’s assistant as well as patient and treatment coordinator. Brook was born in Salina, Kansas. “As an Air Force brat” she moved all over from Kansas, to Colorado, to England, Missouri, Texas and Washington. Brook and Rob (her firefighter husband) have been married for nine years. She has two stepdaughters; Samantha, 17 and Alysha, 23 along with two grandchildren; Arianna and Anthony. Also, a part of her family is Harley; their Westie and Allie; their Yorkie dogs. She enjoys riding with Rob on their Harley motorcycle, glass blowing, golf, camping and fishing. Brook loves working with Dr. Miller! She thinks he is a wonderful dentist and his work is phenomenal. He cares about his patients and treats his staff with respect and makes us feel like we are family. Marla is by far the best office manager she has ever worked with. Brook will be here until Dr. Miller retires or pigs fly (which ever comes first).
Shelly J, Patient/Treatment Coordinator
In addition to being able to multitask effectively, Shelly always has the same constant happy mood. She loves to joke around with her team mates and always makes them laugh. Shelly has been with Dr. Miller’s practice since he bought it in August 2006. Because of her tremendous interpersonal skills, she was asked to move from assistant to front desk. She was born and went to school in Oklahoma. She attended Intellitec Medical Institute. Shelly and Andre have been married for 22 years. After retiring from the military, he now drives a truck locally. They have three children; Veronica, Victoria and Kobee and one adorable, rambunctious grand daughter; Mya. Her hobbies are swimming, bike riding and jigsaw puzzles. Shelly loves working in the practice especially with her co-workers.
Lisa T, Receptionist
Lisa was born in Washington State but has resided here in the springs for almost three years now. The springs have been very good to her. and her three beautiful children. Also she is happily engaged to a wonderful man. She enjoys riding her motorcycle in her spare time or going for a drive in one of her fiancés classic low riders. She loves hanging out with her family and the newest edition to her family Maggie her now 8 month old English bulldog. She feels so blessed to have found her employment at Dr. Millers office. And knows all of the staff her are phenomenal. It is truly a joy to be a part of this team.
Nyla H, RDH
Nyla is another one of our truly wonderful hygienists. She’s been with the practice since June of 2008. She was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. Nyla attended the University of Detroit where she was the recipient of the Detroit Alumni Award which is presented to the graduate who demonstrates the highest clinical competence and professional deportment in patient care. She enjoys hiking and fly fishing. Nyla has two cats, Wilson and Spencer. She says that the hardest thing for her to leave in Michigan was the dental office that she had worked in for 16 years. She didn’t know if she would ever find another office that could match up. Then she found Dr. Miller (or he found her). She thinks he is wonderful and she couldn’t ask for better co-workers. She says she is truly lucky to love what she does and the people she works with.
Andrea S, RDH
Andrea was raised in Denver, Colorado. She has resided in Colorado Springs for the past ten years with her husband Haven, and their two sons Relon who is 20 and Haven who is 18, and their miniature schnauzer Onyx. Andrea attended the Community College of Denver where she graduated with associates of applied science in dental hygiene in 2004. In her free time she likes to exercise, shop and cook. Andrea is very happy to be apart of the practice and enjoys working with her co-workers.
Sarah C, RDH
Sarah is one of our hygienists. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and went to school at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. Sarah absolutely loves her career and provides exceptional care to all patients. She enjoys Dr. Miller, because he strives to provide the tools and resources she needs to perform the best job possible. Even though Sarah is left-handed she is an exceptional hygienist and is in the right mind. She feels that with a great job and incredible co-workers, she couldn’t be more happier. Sarah can usually be found hiking with her Australian Shepherd, Saige Marie. She enjoys mountain biking, running, camping, snowboarding and pumping iron. She moved to Colorado because she loves the outdoors and the mountains. The only things that she misses about the south are sweet tea and southern cooking, but she can always add sugar, butter or fry anything when she feels homesick.
Hicham L, EDDA
Hicham was born in Casablanca, Morocco. He attended Pikes Peak community college here in Colorado Springs where he graduated with an Associates degree of applied science in dental assisting. He also received a certificate of dental laboratory technology from the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. Prior to that Hicham finished an associate degree of science in prosthetic dentistry (ecole superieur de prothese) Casablanca, Morocco. He also loves speaking many languages; he is currently at number four. In 2000 Hicham was honored and given the opportunity to serve his internship at the US Air Force Academy Cadet Dental Clinic. He has been married to his beautiful wife Elisha, who was born in Wisconsin for ten years. They are both very blessed with two boys, Amir Adam who is 8, Saleem Rayanne who is almost 6 and Sophia who just turned one in September 2011. Hicham was very happy when he was granted US citizenship. “I am very proud to experience the pride of being an American. I have many hobbies, but I most enjoy soccer, hunting and do it yourself projects around my home”. Hicham loves working with Dr. Miller because he has kept up with all of the new technologies which allows his staff to do the best work possible. Hicham also likes working with the dynamic team Dr. Miller has in the office!
Julie L, EDDA
Julie was born in Anchorage and raised in Galena, Alaska where she met her wonderful husband Bobby. Since Bobby calls Colorado his home, Julie decided to make it her home as well in 2005. They have three amazing children, two boys and one girl. While attending Pikes Peak Community College she earned her credentials to become an EDDA. In her spare time Julie likes to go on long walks, read magazines and go to the movies.
Hannah F, EDDA
I am the one and only Hannah F. I am married (sorry fellas) to an amazing husband, Cliff. Together, we have the cutest, most talented four children. Don’t let the kids fool you, I play volleyball, basketball, softball and I am currently on a semi-pro women’s football team. If you want to win, you want me on your team. That is why Dr. Miller hired me, he wants nothing but the best. LOL I love working here. The staff is the best I have ever worked with. Dr. Miller is one of the greatest men I have ever known at the office and outside of the office. I have been in the dental field for seven years and I enjoy what I do! I want to grow with my patients at this office. I will be seeing you soon.
Sonja F, Dental Assistant
Sonja was born here in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. She attended Pikes Peak Community College in 2000 where she graduated with an associate’s degree of applied science in dental assisting. Sonja has been an assistant for almost nine years. She has the most beautiful daughter, Aaryanna who is nine. In her free time Sonja coaches her daughter at the Widefield Community Center. Throughout the year she volunteers her time helping children learn to play basketball, softball and volleyball.
Sonja feels incredibly blessed to be working for the best. She not only gets to work for Dr. Miller, but also gets the opportunity to work with Dr. Naomi who both go out of their way to make this office the greatest for not only the staff, but most importantly, their patients.
